I made the decision years ago to go with an artificial Christmas tree. This year I'm taking that decision one step farther.

After struggling with wires and outlets for a couple of hours I decided that it was time for me to invest in a prelit artificial Christmas tree. I was thrilled to find that I could get one for about the same price as a light-free version. Why spend the time putting the lights on and off when you can have the whole thing ready-made?

I found that I could install this item in a fraction of the time that it took me to put up the old evergreen. I can’t say how much difference in time because I tended to lose track of time when dealing with the traditional model. And needless to say, taking down this tree is even easier. Putting the Christmas tree ornaments away is still time consuming. But how much time do you spend every year trying to unwrap the lights from the tree? And how much more time do you spend neatly folding the strands so they won't be tangled when you take them out again next year?
