Last year I used popcorn and cranberry strands in place of the ribbons. After the holidays I placed the strand in the trees outside for the birds to enjoy.

Since I started doing them several years ago, everyone now seems to look forward to the time spend together as we come up with our creations. I think we've even started a new family tradition. I can picture my kids doing the same things when they get older.
